If you are a poet or someone who appreciates poetry, we invite you to join us every second and fourth Thursday of the month. Readings/Open Mic every 2nd Thursday of the month on Zoom: 7pm MST ("Doors" open at 6:45pm)

Readings/Open Mic every 4th Thursday of the month in person at Stony Plain Public Library: 6pm MST. Our

reading series is open to everyone and it is free of charge to participate in our open mics and our readings. If you wish to be a featured reader, you would need to become a member of Parkland Poets Society. This week we saw the completion of two amazing art installations in Stony Plain featuring the poetry of some of our member poets. 2 haiku are now spraypainted around Red Brick Common , and 6 haiku are around the Stony Plain outdoor pool and spray park, and the Stony Plain baseball diamonds near the pool.

Heartfelt thanks to our partners and sponsors for this project, to the poets who submitted their writing for the competition, and to the local artist/poet who thoughtfully brought each one to vibrant life. "Seeding Poetry." Over the past two weeks, members were invited to submit short form poetry to a contest for a special project. The submissions were anonymized and reviewed by a panel, and 4 poems have been selected and printed on sunflower seed packets. We'll be sharing these seeds with strangers around Edmonton, Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, St Albert, and probably elsewhere through the month of June. Thank you to everyone who submitted!
