Pictured here is Darielle Rairdan, representing the Bar Harbour Camp on Buffalo Lake’s board of directors, accepting a $5,000 cheque from Julie Symes, Alberta Prairie Railway Excursions’ reservations and front office manager. These funds were raised from the monies donated by passengers during the horse-mounted train robberies that were part of the entertainment included with the company’s excursions during the 2025 season. All the money raised in this fashion are annually donated to various local and Alberta children’s charities.

Today, Alberta Prairie will observe the International Day of Mourning. At 11:00 am, we will hold a minute of silence, followed by a single long whistle to honor those who have been injured or lost their lives while at work. This serves as a reminder that everyone, regardless of their role, shares responsibility for workplace safety.

Hi everyone,

We want to send our sincere apologizes about our first excursion last night having no functioning audio. Due to no fault of our own, our amplifier had fried itself at the beginning of the excursion having no sound for the entire evening. We’ve worked diligently this morning to fix the problem, to ensure that your Polar Express experience is the best it can be.

Hey everyone! It’s officially 9 days until Polar Express officially starts for the 2025 season. We’ve been super busy making sure everything is ready to go! Of course that means our ‘leaning’ tower of hot chocolate. 🍫🎄🎅
