The Living Hope Art Gallery and Museum is a creative space located at 133 Carolina Avenue, Stephenville, that will amplify voices, preserve culture, and provide meaningful artistic dialogue. At the heart of our gallery is a commitment to uplifting Indigenous voices, stories, and traditions through artistic expression. Featuring local and international artists, paintings, carvings, sculptures, literature, music, and historical artefacts, it will serve as a cultural landmark for the communities of Stephenville and Bay St. George.

Thank you to Theresa Keeping and Dale Merkel at the Living Hope Art Gallery & Museum for their continued support of Stephenville Theatre Festival. This incredible gallery will be open soon and STF can’t wait for Bay St. George and all visitors to witness this incredibly beautiful space with some of the most amazing art you’ll ever see. Here’s some pics of Ben Pittman (General Manager) and Laura Caswell (Artistic Director) getting a special early tour of this new gallery!

With the generous financial support from ArtsNL and in partnership with PARC Company Member Theatre Newfoundland and Labrador, Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre (PARC) is thrilled to bring back new play development workshops to Western Newfoundland!

PARC is now welcoming submissions from playwrights at all levels in their careers based in and/or connected to Western NL to develop new plays through our New Play Development Workshop Series. Playwrights may submit a completed script (ideally) or a partially completed work-in-progress. We welcome any story, but preference will be given to local stories and/or musically inclined pieces.

Two to three Western NL playwrights will receive the opportunity to undergo an intensive development process with professional dramaturgical support from PARC AD Santiago Guzmán. Each workshop will include one-on-one dramaturgical meetings and time to write, and depending on the playwrights needs, may also include working sessions with professional actors and/or a public reading with the opportunity for feedback and conversation. Accommodation and honorarium provided and travel arranged or assisted.

DATES
Submissions Open: October 14, 2026
Submission Deadline: October 30, 2026
Notification of Results: December 1, 2026
Workshop Dates: February 15-20, 2027
