Update on the Tree of Life!
Many creative decisions have come to life — keeping the slag edge, calling on Mother Nature with a secret recipe to precipitate the rust, and adding texture like the bark of an old tree. For the leaves, I opted for a checkered steel plate insert. It doubled my working time, but it really elevates the composition.

It's very near the final — and potentially most meticulous — stage: the resin pour. Hoping to do it this weekend, weather permitting.

It's a process, not a race. Life, as in art, is an exercise in patience and love.

Have a great week!

Here's a fun one to brighten a wet day...

This is the bottom of an old weathered enamel bowl — it's been a dog dish for years. The original design was a red flower, but what I see now is a whole other composition.

Are you with me? What do you see?

I love the contrasting colours against the black! Art is hiding in the most unexpected places. Have a great day everyone!

Creating a Tree of Life. Have to cut through a circular saw to get there. 2 hrs in. Far from done. I'm basically a dust bunny now...have a great day everyone!

I think we can all agree its a busy time of year! Still, i would be remiss if I didnt send a heartfelt thanks to the two lovely couples who visited my studio over the weekend. I am so grateful for your support and blessed to be doing the work I love. A reminder to all that studio visits to my old barn (exhibit space) along the historic Dawson Trail, just west of Richer, can be arranged by appointment. Message me with your interest.

Merci!!

Despite having been borne of a crooked hinge, pitted steel, and antique cast tools, this raven does have a regal aire...steely, poised, and determined, There were never any second thoughts in the making of this bird. Sometimes, the art just flows. She was all flow. And she is a lady. I named her Lady Helen and yes, i do make up imaginary friends in the studio! Lol //
