Originally from Shearstown, Newfoundland, EVAN MERCER, actor and writer, is a graduate from the acting program of the National Theatre School in 2023, and completed the Stratford Birmingham Conservatory in 2024. He appeared in Dangerous Liaisons, As You Like It and Forgiveness part of the 2025 Stratford Festival season.

DANA PUDDICOMBE is a multidisciplinary artist from Roaches Line, NL. She co-wrote/produced the digital series Band Ladies and her short film Fine, Considering is premiering at the 2026 St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival. Dana was a Story Editor in the 2026 PictureNL Writers Room and is currently developing a half hour comedy with support from the Canada Media Fund. Dana coaches improv comedy with St. John’s Improv and is Board Chair for NL Sketch Comedy Festival.

GORDON WHITE has worked with various companies in the Atlantic provinces and across Canada, including The Great Canadian Theatre Company in Ottawa ('An Acre of Time'), Native Earth in Toronto ('A Very Polite Genocide'), Magnus Theatre in Thunder Bay ('Dead White Writer on the Floor'), and Theatre North West in Prince George BC ('Where The Blood Mixes'). He has appeared in six seasons at the Stratford Festival, in such roles as the Fool in ‘King Lear’, Paris in ‘Romeo and Juliet’, Friar Francis in ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ Simon in ‘Mother’s Daughter’, Black Dog in ‘Treasure Island’, Egeon in ‘The Comedy of Errors’ and Ezekiel Cheever in ‘ The Crucible’. Gordon appeared as Edger in 'King Lear' at the National Arts Centre, with August Schellenberg, directed by Peter Hinton.

THE NIGHT LOGAN WOKE UP opens at The LSPU Hall in just two weeks! Let’s meet our incredible cast of actors, starting with Sehar Bhojani, Petrina Bromley, and Brad Hodder!

SEHAR BHOJANI is an actor and producer based in Mississauga. She is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada’s acting program and continues to work in both Film/TV and Theatre, most recently starring in the National Arts Centre and Crow’s Theatre co-production of Trident Moon by Anusree Roy. Currently, Sehar serves as the inaugural Room for Play Program Producer at Young People’s Theatre where she led the creation and curation of the new program. Prior to joining YPT, she served as the Associate Artistic Director of Theatre Direct for four years. .

We are on a mission to collect 100 stories for 100 years, as we celebrate the importance of the LSPU Hall in our community. This is where you come in! It would be fantastic to hear a story from you about your experience at the LSPU Hall.

This story could be: video format (unlisted Youtube link or Dropbox link), a paragraph, or even a few sentences.

Something you could talk about could be:
- Your first time at the LSPU Hall
- A celebrity sighting you had
- Your sense of community at the LSPU Hall
- A show you have seen that stuck with you

Portraits of the Hall:
Contest and Exhibition Event

The LSPU Hall is turning 100 years old this year and we’re celebrating with a special art event! Between now and Nov 24, we invite you to share your own portraits of the Hall! Hall portraits can be in any medium: paint, print, photography, pencils, markers, whatever you like, as long as it can be displayed in physical form and celebrates our grand old building. Pieces generated with AI will not be accepted. Portraits will be displayed in the LSPU Hall Second Space as part of a special exhibition anniversary event on Dec 8.

But that’s not all! You can opt-in to have your portrait included as part of a silent auction fundraiser* for the LSPU Hall! If you opt-in, half of the proceeds will go to the Hall and you’ll collect the rest. Potential purchasers will have a chance to bid in-person and online. In addition, and before bidding opens, one piece will be chosen by the LSPU Hall for a cash prize* and permanent installation at the Hall!

Did you know? Marquita Walsh, the playwright of She Is Here (which RCAT produced last season), is releasing a companion album on Oct 9th with a launch at the Hall!

Joined by a live band, Walsh brings deeply personal songs to life alongside early readings from SHE IS HERE. Moving between music and theatre, the evening offers an immersive glimpse into the creative process of her work and a celebration of art, resilience, community- and the possibility of reclaiming your voice. Tonight at the Hall the St. John's Storytelling Festival is hosting a special evening of storytelling and reflection in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Hosted by Amelia Reimer & Wayne Broomfield. Admission is by donation, with all donations going to Juniper House.
