Michael's Printshop is an artist-run print studio which provides professional fine art printmaking facilities for established and emerging artists. A lure for printmakers who crave a space in which to create art surrounded by the extraordinary natural landscape of the North Atlantic, the Printshop also attracts visuals artists who wish to explore printmaking as a new medium for the first time through workshops with local and visiting printmakers.

New Screenprinting workshop!!

Join visiting artist Stephanie Berrie for an afternoon of Screenprinting and flower making! Participants will be able to choose from pre-made petal patterns to screenprint and then will be able to cut, glue, and assemble into a paper flower of their choosing. This workshop will give folks a chance to experience screenprinting and then use their creativity to bring to life their own monstrous flower. Each participant will have their very own unique flower to take home.

📣𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙡: 𝑾𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒓-𝒊𝒏-𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆! We are excited to host a Festival Writer-in-Residence this year! We welcome Newfoundland & Labrador-based writers to apply for this inaugural position.

SMP will publish the writing in a zine, including festival photography, and on our website. The zine will be distributed to the public at our post-festival exhibition this fall! SMP is interested in engaging a diverse audience in conversations around printmaking, and the prose-style writing should be accessible to a wide audience.

We have a new Visiting Artist in town!

Come by the printshop on Wednesday to meet Stephanie 🐧

Stephanie Berrie is an artist from Dayton, Ohio. She completed her BFA at the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2015 and her MFA at Texas Tech University in 2019. Berrie owns and runs her own printmaking studio in Northern Kentucky, Wild Berries Press and co-runs studio collective, Spit Bite Studios, where she teaches printmaking workshops and hosts community events. She has also been an artist in residence at the Charles Adams Studio Project in Lubbock, Texas and was Tiger Lily’s Annual Working Artist in Cincinnati, Ohio from 2020-2021. She has exhibited her printmaking work all across the nation, primarily in the Southwestern, Midwestern, and Eastern states and is an active member of the Mid America Print Council.
