🎶 Choirs & groups — apply today! Spots are filling up, and capacity is getting limited for HarbourVOICES! 2027.

For choirs/groups, there are two distinct pathways to participation: "Harbour Lights" and "Harbour Stages". For full details, visit www.harbourvoices.ca/pathways-to-participation

We strongly encourage participation from diverse voices, especially those who have not been included historically in traditional choral settings/festivals. We welcome groups and individuals that are interested in collaboration and the reciprocal sharing of collective singing traditions.

Ideal for singers who love music and collective singing but are not traveling with an organized choir/group, participants have the option to join the HarbourVOICES! ‘Solo Together’ Festival Choir as well as participate in curated festival experiences.

Best for: Individual singers who want to attend HarbourVOICES and sing as part of a welcoming festival choir, as well as choral/organizational leaders, composers, presenters, graduate students, and more.

Projekt Chamber Voices is a collaborative, mixed-voice choir based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, dedicated to performing works by contemporary composers. We play on the creative edge of the classical tradition, guided by an evolving practice that makes our artform accessible, relevant, and powerful. For us, choral music is a profound vehicle for addressing the struggles and stories of today, creating a shared space where singers and communities truly connect.

Led by founding director Amy Henderson since 2018, our ensemble functions as a collaborative, project-based collective of about 28 singers rather than following a rigid traditional season. Our members are a passionate mix of music educators, researchers, professional artists, and soloists from genres spanning musical theatre to sacred music.

At its heart, Projekt is built on a dual promise: a commitment to artistic excellence on stage, and a deeply supportive, joyful experience for the musicians creating it. We aim to give experienced singers a welcoming space to challenge themselves, explore their creativity, and share their talents generously with our broader community.

Now in its 51st season, Hamilton Children’s Choir (HCC) continues to inspire through passion, creativity, and community. With nearly 250 singers across six progressive choirs, HCC offers children and youth - from toddlers to young adults - a rich musical education and transformative performance experiences. The organization is devoted to nurturing artistry, fostering belonging, and empowering young people through the act of singing together.

Under the artistic leadership of Melanie Tellez, HCC has expanded both its reach and its imagination, redefining what a children’s choir can be. The choir is recognized nationally and internationally for its expressive sound, dynamic movement, and innovative programming.

Highlights include performing at the World Symposium on Choral Music (Macau, China, 2026), multiple prizes at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod (Wales, 2024), a sold-out featured collaboration with the National Arts Centre Orchestra
(Ottawa, 2025), and Europa Cantat Junior (Ghent, Belgium, 2023).

HCC is also deeply committed to artistic collaboration. Its projects have brought together musicians, poets, choreographers, and visual artists, including Hamilton Philharmonic and Youth Orchestras, McMaster University School of the Arts, Supercrawl Music Festival, along with many national and international composers, artists, choirs and conductors.

Can you come to HarbourVOICES! 2027 without a choir or vocal group? Absolutely! Individual singers (as well as conductors, composers, administrators, and more) can now register for 'Solo Together' - our participation pathway for those who arrive alone but leave connected - new friends, new inspiration, and something that stays with you. Attend all Festival events, with the option to sing in the Solo Together Choir.
