❤️!! The Pottle Centre is a social and recreational centre for adult who live with mental health issues, illnesses and addictions. We are a drug and alcohol free, safe facility. Our members are generally supported by other services such as case manager, Nurse, Psychiatrist, Social Worker or a Psychologist and we become additional su

pport to meet people where they are in their recovery journey. The Pottle Centre began operations in 1980 have had several locations beginning with Church Hill to where we are now, 805 Water Street. We also began as the Canadian Mental Health Association Social Centre and once funding changed hands, the name changed briefly to the UPP Centre (Understanding People's Problems) then to The Pottle Centre to honour one of the founders of the centre, Dr. Clarence Pottle. The Pottle Centre employs two staff and is governed by a Board of Directors who volunteer their time because they have a passion for Mental Health.

What an incredible weekend at the St. John’s Defeat Depression Walk on June 6th. 💙

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to every single person who helped make this year’s event such a success. To our participants, donors, volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and supporters — your support, generosity, encouragement, and presence truly meant the world to us.

Whether you walked with us, donated, volunteered your time, shared our event, or cheered us on from afar, you helped raise awareness for mental health and support the important work being done in our community every day.

A very special thank you goes out to our amazing volunteers and organizing team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring everything together. Events like this are only possible because of people who care deeply about making a difference.

Seeing our community come together in support of mental health was inspiring, emotional, and incredibly meaningful. Thank you for helping us continue the conversation, reduce stigma, and remind people that they are not alone.

For anyone who did not receive their event shirt yet, we will be in touch soon — they are on the way!

Thank you again, St. John’s. 💙
