Three years in the making! It's going to be go much fun!

Tuesday, March 28 will be the next Noon concert in our Winter Series: Michelle Cheramy, Annie Corrigan, Christine Carter, Nicole Hand, Emily Dunsmore – Aires Tropicales!

In Aires Tropicales, Memorial University and Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra wind players Michelle Cheramy, Flutist, Annie Corrigan, Christine Carter, Nicole Hand, and Emily Dunsmore join forces for the first ever Music@Memorial woodwind quintet concert! The iconic quintet by György Ligeti and sextet for winds and piano by Francis Poulenc (with special guest Gregory Oh, piano) will be joined by Paquito D’Rivera’s lively Aires Tropicales and Valerie Coleman’s Umoja - an “anthem of unity.”

A free lunchtime concert in our Suncor Energy Hall.

There is a new date for Michelle Cheramy, Sarah Veber and Kate Read – Garden of Joy and Sorrow | Mainstage Concert Series!

Rescheduled from January, your chance to hear this very rare listening opportunity will be on Friday, March 17, 7:30pm in our D.F. Cook Recital Hall.

Music at Memorial welcomes harpist Sarah Veber and Kate Read - Violist, who join faculty member Michelle Cheramy, Flutist in a gorgeous program of trios for flute, viola, and harp. Claude Debussy’s iconic sonata for this instrumental combination is paired with trios by R. Murray Schafer, Afarin Mansouri, and Sofia Gubaidulina for a colourful, mesmerizing, and lushly impressionistic concert. Don’t miss this chance to enjoy a chamber ensemble and repertoire rarely heard in St. John’s.

On Monday, January 30 at 7:30pm NST, we are holding an Audition Q&A Session online via Webex. Join Dean Karen Bulmer and Associate Dean Michelle Cheramy as they discuss the audition process for the School of Music at Memorial University. In this session, we will share practice and performance strategies, describe what is covered on undergraduate assessments, and answer your questions.

Applicants to the Bachelor of Music, Joint Degrees, and Master of Music programs, their parents, supporters, and teachers, as well as those who are thinking about auditioning in future years are all welcome to attend.

Call for proposals now open for Newfound 2023!

Submissions for Newfound Music Festival XX are now open!

The 20th edition of the Newfound Music Festival will take place from January 25-27th, 2023, live and in-person from the School of Music!

Newfound Music Festival is an annual festival that invites students, alumni, and faculty to share their "Newfound ideas" with the School of Music community. There will be three days of workshops, a symposium, special guests, concerts, and a final gala performance.
