Touralism™ When “Music & Friends” Becomes Everyone’s Story!

There’s a moment when our legendary Bud Davidge’s “Music & Friends” fills a room and something wonderful happens. People rise to their feet, reach for one another’s hands and sing. Friends, neighbours and visitors become part of the same circle.

For me, that moment captures the heart of Touralism™: being part of the experience of place through songs and stories.
In a kitchen, the song carries the warmth of a NL welcome.

In a museum or heritage site, it brings people together among the stories of those who came before us. On community stages, in concert venues & at festivals and events, it turns a gathering into a shared experience of belonging.

Watch the hands joining. Hear the voices growing stronger. Feel the joy moving through the room. Everyone has a part in making that moment happen.

Bud has given us a song that carries our spirit wherever it is sung. People who have known it for years stand beside people discovering it for the first time, sharing something they can take home with them: the memory of being welcomed, included and connected.

That is what I seek to create through Touralism™, experiences where our music, culture & stories invite people into the life of a place.

Every time “Music & Friends” brings people to their feet, holding hands & singing together, Touralism™ comes alive. The song becomes a welcome, the audience becomes a community, & the place becomes part of their story.

Music & Friends

Touralism™ brings a place to life through its music, stories and heritage, connecting people to its culture and inviting them to become part of its story.

A place has a sound. A story. A heartbeat. That’s Touralism™.

I created Touralism™ to bring people into the experience of a place through its songs & stories to hear its voices, meet its people & feel a connection that stays with them.

Here in NL, that might be an accordion tune that gets your feet moving, a song that honours a miner’s life, songs of the sea, or a kitchen-party chorus that turns a roomful of strangers into friends.

Through Creative Cultural Experiences and Hamilton Sound I bring together music, storytelling, heritage and community to create those moments of connection.

Because when we share our culture, we give people something to carry home, & we help keep our stories alive for the next generation.

Touralism™ being part of the experience of place through stories & songs.

What song or story brings you home?

On September 30, Creative Cultural Experiences joins people across Canada in observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

We honour the children who never came home from residential schools, the Survivors, their families, and the communities who continue to carry this history.

Take time to seek out an Indigenous-led event!
