Why is this candle in a roasting pan?

I'm testing out a new material for my dory boat candles and I am doing something called an abuse burn. I left the wicks long, letting it burn way beyond the recommended time to really give the potential new material a run for its money.

I want to make sure it will withstand the heat and a candle being used improperly before I make any decisions to move forward with it.

The roasting pan is for my own safety to easily move and suffocate the candle should it fail my tests.

As a candle maker, safety is the most important thing so testing is a non-negotiable.

If the material passes my tests, I will have these boats available again for the holiday season.
I do have a few cement vessels available still, but they are almost all gone and the switch to the new material will take a few months.

Set up at Under the Stars. I had to store my room sprays behind the table because of the wind, but my smelling bottles are out and so are my candles and melts.
I also brought a few reed diffusers but they are tucked safely behind the display today 😀

That was surprising!

Each month I pull the data to see my top scents in candles, wax melts, and room sprays, and then the top scents across all formats. I could hardly believe it when I looked at the numbers, but Deadly Lemon Squares has finally dethroned Molasses Raisin Bread.

For the last 3.5 years, Molasses Raisin Bread was number 1, and Deadly Lemon Squares was number 2. But as of the first half of this year, they have officially switched!

Ive made a few changes to how your profile and rewards show on my site. Having everything in one easy to see place will I think be a huge improvement.
