Officially unveiled. 🎨
The Song of the Rising Sun is now part of St. Jacobs!
From a blank wall to this amazing piece.

Led by Ian Pierce (Ekeko) and in collaboration with Trish Trudell-Hooktwith, Alex Bonacorso, Brian Kelly, and Angus Mcpherson, this mural stands at 1386 King St N as part of our 25th-anniversary celebrations!

We thank Woolwich Township, our grantors, the artist involved, our staff, friends who were with us today, and the entire community. We love you all!

‘May every Mower carry a message of hope, every butterfly a wish for freedom, and every bird a prayer for peace.
Neruda Arts stands with those whose human rights are systematically violated around the world’.

🧡This Wednesday, September 30, let’s commemorate, acknowledge, and reflect!

‘By nurturing our children, we honour them as sacred gifts who carry the wisdom of our ancestors and the potential to teach us. They are not only our future but our greatest teachers’.

We could not really have reconciliation until there was acknowledgement of the truth

A sneak peek at our new mural- anyone?

Ian Pierce (Ekeko), an award-winning muralist from Chile, is already here creating The Song of the Rising Sun, an amazing mural that will soon be placed in St. Jacobs as part of our 25th-anniversary celebrations!

Ian is also working with local artists, such as Trish Trudell-Hooktwith, owner and director of Studio C The Corner, Alex Bonacorso and Patrick LaFrenere.
So Exciting!
