Completed overshot weave along with a little update. 💙
A few posts ago, I hinted at some big life changes coming up. While they may not be monumental in the grand scheme of things, they feel significant to me as my day-to-day life is about to shift quite a bit in the next coming weeks.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you might recall that I previously worked at a small liberal arts and sciences university that, sadly, no longer exists. After losing my position there, I dove right into growing my fibre art business while also being a full-time mom to my three boys. At the same time, my husband launched an outdoor gear brand, which has kept him (and all of us) very busy.
Although the past few years have been both fun and fulfilling, I’ve found myself missing my career in education. While dealing with a thumb injury that slowed down my creating time earlier this year, I took the opportunity to reflect and explore new paths. I’m happy to share that I’ve recently accepted an administrative position at an independent high school here in Squamish. The school aligns well with my values and my boys’ ages, and the school holiday schedule is a huge bonus for our family life. Knowing some of the staff, students, and parents already make it feel like the perfect fit.
While this will be a full-time role, I’m not stepping away from my fibre art business. I still plan to create as time allows—sometimes I find I’m even more productive when life is full. If you’re interested in a custom piece, don’t hesitate to reach out. Just know that turnaround times may be a bit longer than usual.
So, this isn’t a goodbye, just a new chapter. I’ll still be here, even if I’m a bit quieter on Instagram.
Lastly, I want to express my deepest to each and every one of you who has supported me and my small business. Your kindness, encouragement, and belief in what I do has meant so much. I’m truly grateful. 🙏🙏🙏
