We have a set this week from Ashleigh (Miss Pidgeon) and some delicious handpan relaxation with Ryan Fletcher after. Elise is going to be facilitating the opening and closing! Join us!

Miss PIdgeon: 

Inspired to become a DJ through her own deep relationship with dance as a non-negotiable practice for processing life, Ashleigh’s understanding of the ecstatic dance arc has been shaped first through the experience of being a dancer herself. Feeling called toward sound through both intuition and a deep connection to her late father and ancestral lineage, she now weaves together organic house, tribal rhythms, global sounds, deep bass, and heart-opening melodies to create grounded and emotionally expansive dance journeys rooted in embodiment, release, connection, and collective joy.

Ryan Fletcher

Ryan has been an intuitive handpan player since first being drawn to the instrument in late 2019. Based in Squamish, his style focuses on a grounded, improvisational approach that leans into the natural resonance of the steel. He draws direct inspiration from the ruggedness of the local forests, mountains and rivers, trading polished performance for a raw, honest exchange of sound and vibration. By leaning into intuitive flow, Ryan tries to create a centered space for sound that is deeply rooted in the landscape and the reality of the moment.

Join us this Thursday, October 1st!

We’re excited to have Jo Peters stepping up to provide a dance journey this week! She’ll he accompanied by Ryan Fletcher on the handpan to help us ease into the space and wind down at the end!

J/O is a new West Coast DJ bringing soulful, bouncy energy to the dance floor. Blending melodic techno, house, UKG, breaks and bass, J/O’s sets move between dreamy, euphoric melodies, rich layers of sound and rolling UKG bounce—with the occasional banger thrown in for a little surprise.

Inspired by movement, colourful sounds, nature and the freedom of dancing, J/O is drawn to musical journeys of all kinds—from whimsical forest raves and underground techno in the heart of the city to salsa dancing under the stars.

Energetic, diverse, cheeky and immersive, J/O’s sets are designed to get people out of their heads and into their bodies.

We’re welcoming in Sarah - DJ Sarahtonin. Sarah Kraatz We are excited about another potent dance experience!

Sarah is a Bowen Island based DJ specializing in a wide range of musical styles, but especially loves tech house, disco house and deep house. She has played at many events on Bowen Island, including Pride, Bowfest, and People’s Prom. She draws inspiration for her sets from dance parties with friends at home and attending dance events/classes in the area. She is known for creating a positive, uplifting environment through her warm energy, providing a collaborative experience with the dance floor. She is excited to continue to learn and build meaningful connections in the dance community.

Join us for a special evening as we welcome a few incredible guests into the Temple for a potent and medicinal journey through rhythm, movement, live music, and sound.

SOULar Sound will guide us through an extended dance journey woven together with live violin from Michael Fraser and percussion & vocals from Anki Coyolotl. We’ll move from the rhythm of the dance floor into stillness, closing the musical journey with a Shamanic Sound Journey led by Gin Perry.

Come as you are. Move, listen, connect, and allow the rhythms of the evening to take you where you need to go.

As summer winds down and we find ourselves with more space in the evenings, choosing to show up fully to these conscious dance practices can be integrative, healing, potent, transformative, restorative, activating, and more.

We love this practice and are looking forward to seeing some of you beautiful dancers back in the temple!

This week we are welcoming Rory Hayz Rory Beaupre behind the decks. Opening and closing facilitation by the wonderful Elise Elise Johnston

Rory is a Squamish-based DJ with a love for deep bass, worldly sounds, and drum-driven rhythms. His sets blend global influences with bass-heavy electronic music, creating space to move, let go, and drop fully into the present moment. For Rory, dance is less about performance and more about connection, freedom, and getting out of your head and into your body.

Renée is a Squamish based DJ that delivers passengers safely into the darkness. Heavily inspired by the sounds of indie dance and its fusion with melodic house and downtempo she’s ready to take you on a journey through bounce and melody… always with a touch of the dark.

We’re on for August 13th!

Excited to co-create a container of movement, expression, and flow with everyone.

We have Samuel Samways running a contact improvisation workshop from 6-7pm, then we’ll flow into our dance practice from there.

Brazilian performing artist with 17 years of experience in partner dancing. His research extends to acrobatic movements, floorwork, capoeira, contemporary dance, contact improvisation and the fusion of Latin American social dances, with an emphasis in Brazilian Zouk, Tango, Forró and Samba de Gafieira.
He is the creator of Mutual Leading, an improvisational technique that challenges the hierarchical structures traditionally associated with gender roles in social dance.
Samuel is the director of Terceira Margem, an art collective interested in the intersection between dance, theater and circus. He is also the creator of the dance festival MONSTRA – Festival de Dança de Salão Contemporânea.

Excited to co-create a container of movement, expression, and flow with everyone.

We have special guests from Guatemala coming this week including a very dear friend Lysh who has DJ’d for us a lot in the past. Super excited to have her back in the space and bringing new friends to help curate the evening!

“Echoes on the Bridge” is a musical group curating movement and dance experiences through music. They’re offering a facilitated dance experience with specially curated, pre-recorded DJ set.

Blending the styles of Ecstatic Dance, 5Rhythms, and Biodanza, each set is a thoughtfully crafted journey; curated by dancers, for dancers.

Stretch. Move. Dance.

Immerse yourself in the music, and discover where the journey takes you.
