Well we've done everything we can and he's still lame and off.
He's got 2 more cryotherapy sessions to do. He's got till end of july on previcox, and I picked up the adequan today. Unfortunately we are making the decision to stop chiro and magnawave until we see some kinda results.
He gets the red light therapy boot I was lucky enough to rent for the rest of the month. But for a horse at 19 I think he's just been neglected for too long and allowed to have his body breakdown for too long with zero treatment.
We didn't get great news from the vet this morning after sending these videos to her. I unfortunately don't see the point in doing a s**t ton of diagnostics, and thousands of dollars to MAYBE have him be sound or out of pain. He will always for forever need maintenance, he will forever need thousands dug into him to be kept even just a pasture pet. That isn't fair to him, nor us to watch a horse disintegrate in a field just for our own heart. I will not allow an animal to sit in pain and unsound and end of july we may be making that call. His body was left to sit in a field with no care in the world to his health. He never seen vets, never got suppliments to help his deteriorating body. Wasn't given chiro or body work or even proper farrier care. He was extorted for money because he will do anything for anyone under saddle and won't hurt a fly. I am disgusted that three "professionals" allowed him to rot the way he did, and a mother who dropped nothing to help this horse because she was too fkn stupid to learn anything about horses in 15 years....who seen him as something that could just sit, without learning why he couldn't. Then creating more trauma for both me and my young child by offloading the problems onto us.
I have put over 2k alone into this animal this month. 700$ worth of insurance down the drain because I thought it would cover this s**t and it didn't because I was too dumb to ask allllll the questions, only surgery and colic....thousands in board since December. Suppliments. Chiro. Body work. Magnawave. Medication. Vets. Fuel. Time. Hauling. Stress. Anxiety. Tears. But trauma, threats and harassment by someone who should have protected this animal and her child.... I hope, I pray these injections help him. I bawled this morning for over an hour thinking about having to put him down. But I put the animal before myself and if his body is saying its done then I won't force him to stay alive.
So please, hug your fur family a little tighter, cry into that mane, kiss their noses, and remember that they come first. Say a prayer for tachick tonight, and cross your fingers and toes it all works out by july ๐
