Wow… what a way to end an amazing week!
First of all, our friends at Exit 1 hosted one of the best local shows I’ve seen in a long time. Quake Matthews, Ria Mae (yes, spelled the same as my daughter 😁) and Classified absolutely did not disappoint.
Then, thanks to The Elm Tree’s after-party, I discovered a fantastic DJ who reminded me why I started doing this in the first place. He inspired me to spend a little more time with my controller, work on the craft, and actually do what I love instead of always worrying about chasing the next dollar. Sometimes you need that reminder.
Speaking of money… today was also the day my Spot Drop dropped in Springhill and Amherst almost simultaneously! Two people found $50 each. 💵 I absolutely loved doing this. It was just a small way to give a little something back to the communities that have supported me.
And last, but definitely not least…
I spent a good part of this week researching Emo music for Saturday night, and man, was it ever worth it. Watching these kids sing and dance to practically every song, all night long, did my heart good. 🖤🎶 Nights like that remind me that DJing isn’t just about playing music. It’s about watching a room come alive.
So with all that said, we’re taking a little break and then WE’LL SEE YOU IN SEPTEMBER!
📼 September 5: Legends of the 90s — The Elm Tree
🎤 September 8: Trivia Night with Norm — The Elm Tree
🎤 September 9: Trivia Night with Norm — Sociables
And yes, Legends of the 90s is back by popular demand!
Thanks to everyone who came out, danced, sang, supported local events, found a Spot Drop, played trivia, or was simply part of this crazy-good week.
I’ll try to get some pictures posted soon.
See you in September. ❤️
