Brine Farm’s Halloween Haunted Trail

As some of you may know, our trail is fully prepared by us with no outside help. There are very few of us preparing the trail, all with jobs, and/or children. The trail can - and usually does - take months to prepare for. We * begin * our trail brain-storming, costumes, and new props in December, and we find our actors and set up during the summer months into Autumn. This year has been very hard to to do anything due to the drought. With the woods ban in place we have been unable to go out and work on the trail, and no longer have the time frame to prepare the trail by the time it should open.

We very sadly have to announce that we will NOT be open for a 2025 season. We will plan ahead for the possibility of this happening again next year, so that we can still have our trail ready to return in 2026!

Phantom's Freakshow is a Nova Scotian haunt located in the Wolfville area, that has to find a new home (check out the requirements in their post). In the last few years NS has sadly lost multiple haunts due to various reasons, and we don't want to lose any more this season! Please, if you know someone in their area with building that fits their needs, have them contact Phantom's FreakShow Haunted House ! Just another way to support your local haunt!

As we officially wrap up our 13th season, it's time for us to share a big change that’s been looming on the horizon. While we would love nothing more than to stay rooted in our current location here in Kentville, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment. Over the years, we’ve worked closely with our community, collaborating to make this event a source of pride and connection for everyone. Now, as we look toward the future, we’re turning to our network to help us find the perfect solution.

We’re not entirely sure what this next chapter will look like, but we’re open to different options: long term leasing, purchasing, or any creative solution that will allow us to continue evolving in the Annapolis Valley. Here’s what we’re ideally looking for in a new space:

- AMPLE SPACE: option 1: Enough room for our full haunt setup minimum of 5500+ square feet, parking, and room for growth (field or open space). Option 2: Enough room for MULTIPLE BUSINESSES to move together (1 pop up event and 1 full time business and 1 private studio location), minimums of 8,200+ square feet.

- ACCESSIBILITY TO 101: Must reachable for our local audience, with potential for visitors from across the region (we have a lot of people travel in from Halifax). Ideal area would be centralized Annapolis Valley. We have staff that travel from Windsor to Kingston and we can’t risk losing our team no matter how desirable the location. Family comes first!

- COMMUNITY FRIENDLY: A location that aligns with our values and our goal to remain an active part of the community. We might seem like a bunch of off beat misfits, but our team give back big time. No matter what the season, we are always willing to offer enhancement and creative solutions that are fun for everyone.

- ZONING FLEXIBLE: Space that supports our event requirements, possibly a commercial or industrial zone, though we're open to unique alternatives. We are not opposed to agricultural property, we love the idea of outbuilding and a space to really think big, but we don’t have a green thumb and we can’t be responsible for the life and maintenance of plants.

We’re creatives at heart, so “thinking outside the box” is exactly what we do best. If you or anyone you know has an idea, a location in mind, or even a lead on an unconventional spot that might be a perfect fit, we’d love to hear from you!

Normally don't ask people to *share share share*, but this time we are. Remember that every person, of any age, that shows up at your door has made the choice to trick or treat instead of something more negative. If you're handing out candy, and a teen comes knocking, don't be a Halloween Grinch. Halloween is also a holiday of giving and fun for people of all ages!

Come join us today! Bring the family and walk the trail, playing one of several games along the way, take your photo in one of our many photo boards, get your face painted, and then head back down to visit the market to grab yourself an ice or something from the BBQ!

And that's a wrap! We were down 7 actors tonight, but still pulled off a pretty darn good show! We'd like to thank all of our actors and volunteers in the night trail this year! They were fantastic!
