For 40 years, Sooke Harbour Players has entertained the people of Sooke and the surrounding communities with first-rate theatrical productions, featuring actors of all ages. Sooke Harbour Players is proud to create original, engaging, family-friendly and diverse entertainment. The non-profit Society has a long history, starting in 1982 as “Stage West Players”, and renaming to “Sooke Harbour Player

Sooke Harbour Players Presents 9 to 5: The Musical
Travel back with us to 1979

SOOKE, BC — Sooke Harbour Players brings 9 to 5: The Musical to Sooke, with six performances running September 18 through 27.

Based on the hit film, 9 to 5: The Musical is a fun-filled romp with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton. Set in 1979, the show follows three very different women, Violet, Doralee and Judy, who are pushed to their limits by their boss, the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical, bigot Franklin Hart Jr.

After an outrageous fantasy of revenge brings them together, the trio decide to take control of the office and transform their toxic workplace into one built on fairness, inclusivity and respect.

Packed with humour, heart, and catchy songs, 9 to 5 is a fast-paced celebration of friendship, empowerment and standing up for what’s right.

The production is directed by Karmen McNamara and produced by Asha MacLeod.

The Sooke Harbour Players are excited to announce that tickets are available for our Autumn 2026 production of ‘9 to 5, the Musical’, directed by Karmen McNamara!

AUDITION CALL – A CHRISTMAS STORY!

The Sooke Harbour Players are excited to announce auditions for our Winter 2025 production of A Christmas Story, directed by Asha MacLeod!

Based on the beloved holiday film, A Christmas Story follows nine-year-old Ralphie Parker as he embarks on a determined quest for the perfect Christmas gift: an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle. Along the way, he navigates schoolyard bullies, family adventures, eccentric neighbours, memorable encounters with Santa, and constant warnings that he'll "shoot his eye out!"

Filled with humour, heart, and nostalgia, this holiday classic celebrates family, childhood dreams, and the magic of Christmas.

We're looking for performers ages 7 to 100+ — everyone is welcome to audition!
