THE ILLUSTRATED WORLD OF SAMMI'S WORRY
For the first time since its 2021 release, Angela Menzies is showcasing her original, award-winning illustrations from her children’s book Sammi’s Worry. Copies of Sammi’s Worry are available at the Metchosin ArtPod Gallery. The exhibition runs from May 1 to May 31, Tuesday to Thursday 11-3 and Friday to Sunday 11-4 at the Metchosin Arts and Culture Centre.

It’s was a rainy day here on the Pacific Northwest, and we are at the tail end of a stormy patch. The many power outages were long enough to burn beeswax candles until they were spent and sputtering – their light flickering then fading across the pages of a book I curled up with. When my boys were young, we’d spend stormy power outages huddled together beneath the covers reading a book by candlelight. Do you and your kids have a favourite book to read together?
When Sammi gets caught being chased by her worries through a storm, she must find the courage to face what's scary. "Sammi's Worry" teaches children how to cope with their anxious feelings.
I hope you enjoy this sensitive rendition of “Sammi’s Worry”, read for you by my eldest son.

So posts like this kind of break my heart. Did you know, that for an independent published children's book author like me, Amazon is one of the best places to sell our books? Brick and mortar stores take a 60% commission after our printing and shipping costs!

Not everyone selling on Amazon is a "big guy". Amazon prints and distributes independent books at a fraction of the commission to me.
