Northern Edge Sport Expansion Project

🚧 Phase Two Construction is Well Underway!

Exciting progress is happening at Northern Edge Sport Association as our Phase Two renovation and facility upgradecontinues to take shape!

We’re looking forward to sharing this improved community space with everyone soon. Thank you to our members, families, staff, and community for your ongoing patience as we work through the final stages of construction.

This project has been funded through grants and much appreciated community sponsors! NESA is managing the project as a non-profit organization, with a clear goal: to invest in our community and improve and expand recreation opportunities in the Bulkley Valley for the long term.

These upgrades are about more than improving a building — they’re about creating more space, better infrastructure, and greater opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to be active, connected, and involved in recreation.

We can’t wait to welcome you into the upgraded space soon!

Building for today. Investing in recreation for the future. 💙

Safety is a priority for Northern Edge Sport Association, and the trees have become a safety issue. The trees have been removed, and NESA will be offering a firewood fundraiser to help recover the cost of the tree removal. Please note that NESA is covering the cost of these upgrades through fundraising and grant writing. If you are interested in purchasing wood or making a donation, please contact Lara Collingwood. Thank you 😊

Did you know…? 🦖
The “dinosaur” HVAC system in the NESA facility actually began its life at Chandler Park Middle School before being moved to our building in 2005. While its exact age is a bit of a mystery, one thing is certain - it’s no longer meeting modern efficiency, air-quality, or programming needs.

Good news… we’re listening!

As part of the NESA Expansion Project (Phase 2), the entire HVAC system will be replaced with a modern, energy-efficient system in 2026, improving comfort, air quality, and sustainability for everyone who uses the facility.
