Your Favourite Songs, Slightly More Handsome Than the Originals
Some bands spend years trying to reinvent music. Classic Humans figured it was a lot more fun to play the songs everyone already knows and loves—and have a great time doing it.
Made up of four lifelong music lovers with enough combined stage experience to make them sound old (they prefer "well-seasoned"), Classic Humans delivers a high-energy mix of classic rock, pop, country, and crowd favourites guaranteed to get people singing along, dancing, or at the very least convincing themselves they still know all the words.
Leading the charge is Jimi, whose vocals and guitar work prove that sleep is optional when you're fueled by great music and questionable life choices. Whether he's belting out rock anthems or getting the crowd involved, Jimi brings the energy from the first chord to the last encore.
Holding down the six-string department is Paul, a guitarist whose solos range from tasteful and melodic to "where did that come from?" He's the kind of player who makes difficult riffs look effortless—mostly because he insists they are. His mission is simple: play great guitar and pretend nobody notices the occasional guitar face.
On bass is Tommy, the quiet professional... at least until the music starts. Tommy lays down the groove that keeps the whole band locked together while making it look far easier than it actually is. He may not say much between songs, but his bass does plenty of talking.
Behind it all is Brad on drums, providing the heartbeat, horsepower, and occasional comic relief. Equal parts timekeeper and chaos coordinator, Brad makes sure the train stays on the tracks—even when the rest of the band decides to take the scenic route.
Together, Classic Humans aren't trying to be a tribute band or the next big thing. They're just four friends who genuinely love playing live music and creating unforgettable nights wherever they go. From packed bars and community festivals to private parties, fundraisers, weddings, and anywhere with electricity (extension cords appreciated), the band knows how to read a room and keep the good times rolling.
Expect everything from timeless rock classics and '80s favourites to country hits, sing-along anthems, and the occasional surprise that nobody saw coming. Every setlist is built with one goal in mind: keeping the dance floor busy and the smiles even bigger.
So if you're looking for polished musicianship, great harmonies, plenty of laughs, and a band that doesn't take itself too seriously, Classic Humans has you covered.
After all, they're only human... just a little more classic.

Mike is a local resident having lived in Sioux lookout on and off for 40 years. Mike began playing the Sioux Mountain Music Festival in the 90’s as a drummer in rock bands. Mike now plays guitar and sings and we’re lucky to have him back this year as he has just finished putting a metal roof on his cabin and adding log siding to it…chores that damaged his fingers and limited his playing time. Mike will be performing at the Sioux Mountain Music Festival on Sunday August 2 in Sioux Lookout at Farlinger Park.
