Maybe some will take the time to read this, maybe some will be to ignorant too..yes this is the states but we have the exact same expenses here in Canada. Some on a larger scale and some on a smaller scale but the expenses adjust accordingly.Maybe some will learn something from this so that next time youre complaining about pricing you may stop to think about how much goes into it

🤔 Why Does It Cost, What It Costs, to Operate a Carnival?

Many people see the ✨ lights, 🎡 rides, and excitement—but few realize what it takes behind the scenes to safely operate a modern traveling carnival.

Every day, a carnival has thousands of dollars 💸 in expenses before the first ride even opens.

🦺 Labor

40–50 employees working long hours
Many workers must be paid prevailing wage, often well above state minimum wage depending on the event and location.
Payroll taxes, workers' compensation, housing, transportation, and employee benefits all add significantly to labor costs. Labor has become one of the fastest-rising expenses for carnival operators.

🚛 ⛽️ Fuel & Transportation

Multiple semi-trucks hauling rides and equipment from city to city.
Diesel fuel for trucks, generators, and support equipment.
Rising fuel prices directly affect operating costs every week.

🛠️ Ride Maintenance

Daily inspections before opening.
Preventative maintenance.
Replacement of hydraulic hoses, bearings, motors, tires, cables, lights, electrical components, and safety equipment.
State-required inspections and repairs.

🛡️Insurance

Operating a carnival requires extensive insurance coverage, including:

*General liability
*Ride liability
*Commercial vehicle insurance
*Workers' compensation
*Property and equipment coverage

Insurance premiums for traveling carnivals are among the highest in the entertainment industry because of the unique risks involved.

⚙️ Equipment & Supplies

Every operating day also requires:

*Ride parts
*Lubricants and hydraulic fluids
*Cleaning supplies
*Safety equipment
*Fuel filters
*Electrical supplies
*Paint and appearance maintenance
*Ticketing and cashless payment supplies

📑 Permits & Regulatory Compliance

Carnivals must comply with:

*State amusement ride inspections
*Local permits
*Fire inspections
*Health and safety regulations
*Transportation regulations
*CDL requirements
*OSHA compliance
*Utilities
*Generators
*Electrical distribution
*Lighting
*Fuel for portable power
*Water service when required
*Setup & Teardown

✍🏼 Before a single guest arrives:

Every ride must be transported.
Every ride must be assembled.
Every ride must be inspected.
Every ride must be tested.

The entire midway must be safely dismantled and moved to the next location

👷🏼‍♂️Safety Comes First

Our first priority is providing a clean, safe, and enjoyable experience for every guest.

Our team invests heavily in:

*Employee training
*Daily ride inspections
*Preventative maintenance
*State inspections
*Modern safety systems
*Professional staffing

These investments help ensure every guest can enjoy the carnival with confidence.

Thank You 🙏🏻😊

Every ticket or wristband purchased helps support the tremendous effort required to bring a traveling carnival to your community.

The Best Part -> Your Support Gives Back to the Community!

When you purchase a ride ticket or wristband, you’re doing more than creating family memories—you are helping support the community hosting the event.

A portion of carnival proceeds helps fairs and festivals:

* ❤️ Support local youth programs and scholarships
* 🎓 Fund educational opportunities
* 🎉 Finance community events and entertainment
* 🌳 Improve parks and public spaces
* 🤝 Support local nonprofit organizations and civic groups
* 🏡 Keep community traditions alive for future generations

Every fair and festival is different, but one thing remains the same:

The carnival isn’t just entertainment—it’s a fundraising partner that helps communities thrive.

Thank you for riding with us and for supporting the organizations that make these events possible!

Thank you for supporting local fairs, festivals, and the hardworking men and women who make the midway possible.

We appreciate your support and look forward to creating lasting family memories with you!

Looking for a few more people to set up operate and teardown as well as class G drivers to pull trailers (experience pulling trailers preferred) for the 2026 season. Must be able to travel and live on the road for the season. Sleeping/living arrangements provided, competitive salary and shorter work weeks then most carnivals, roughly 35 hours per week and some shorter depending on location. Normally anywhere between 2 to 3. 5 days off a week. contact by messenger or call 519-429-4875 and ask for Jeanna

Coming soon to a fair or festival near you! Fingers crossed we can get it out this season but if not you will see it next season for sure! It dont look like much but once youre on it, its faster then you think and it kinda feels like a scrambler when gravity forces you to the end of the seat.
