We had our first session of the Spring Season for the Lighthouse Community Choir yesterday and I thank everyone who came to sing! What a beautiful community we have. I am so grateful that we get to gather every Sunday from 4:00-5:30 pm to share song and joy. What a great way to kick off the upcoming week! Thank you to St Paul's United Church, Sidney, BC for bringing song and joy to the heart of the Town of Sidney.

I am getting excited for the Spring Season for the Lighthouse Community Choir. This Spring Season is Sunday, March 8th through June 21st. We just have a ball! If you are looking to join a choir, or just have a ton of fun on a Sunday Afternoon before Dinner, consider us.

How to join the Lighthouse Community Choir?
To join the Lighthouse Community Choir, here's what you need to know¹ ²:
Rehearsal Details: Spring Season starts March 8th
When: Sundays, 4:00 - 5:30 PM
Where: St. Paul's United Church, 2410 Malaview Avenue, Sidney, BC V8L 2G3
No Experience Required: The choir welcomes singers of all levels, and no previous choir experience or music reading skills are necessary.
Commitment: Members are asked to commit to at least one term, with two seasons and concerts per year.

Sidney’s Lighthouse Choir Inaugural Concert: Free Admission & Fundraiser

The Lighthouse Community Choir is a vibrant and uplifting ensemble making its debut in Sidney, B.C., bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds through the unifying power of music. The choir offers a welcoming space for both seasoned singers and enthusiastic newcomers.

Members of the choir are driven by a shared passion for creating beautiful music and fostering a strong sense of community. The repertoire features a dynamic mix of gospel, contemporary, and traditional choral works, allowing singers to explore a wide range of musical styles. The Lighthouse Community Choir not only enriches the lives of its members but also serves as a beacon of hope and connection for the wider community.

The choir is directed by Ashley Wey, a beloved, award-winning recording artist, pianist, and vocalist with extensive international experience. Sidney-born, Ashley spent years performing aboard cruise ships, in hotels, and touring around the world before returning to her birthplace by the sea. Most recently, she became the Music Director at St. Paul’s United Church, where this concert is presented.

The concert will also serve as a fundraiser in support of two important charities: the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank and Eagle Heights Africa in B.C. Society.

Hello everyone! We are so sincerely looking forward to our inaugural season’s choir concert, taking place on February 8 at St. Paul’s United Church. The concert begins at 4:30 PM, with doors opening at 4:00 PM.

We’re especially grateful that donations from the evening will be supporting two wonderful local and global causes: the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank and the Eagle Heights Africa Society. Thank you for helping us give back through music.

I’m also very happy to announce that our second season begins on March 8 and runs through June 21. This season, my partner in joy, fun, and singing will be Sunny Shams—a wonderful singer and pianist with a deep love for both opera and jazz. We’re so excited to create music together and share this next chapter with you.
