Paint for Joy with Nicole Bray

Paint for Joy with Nicole Bray Luxury paint & sip experiences designed to inspire creativity, connection & joy. I've got you. This is a FUN art class NOT a fine art class. A night out to Sip.

From flower farms and distilleries to tea rooms and private events, Paint for Joy creates beautifully curated creative gatherings across Edmonton & area. I’ve been painting since I was 13, and what started as a creative outlet has turned into a lifelong passion for helping others connect with their creativity. I believe:
~ Art is a tool for self-care.
~ Adults deserve play too.
~ Come as you are.

Paint. Smile. Repeat. You don’t need to be ‘artsy.’ You just need to show up! I teach my guests that there are no mistakes. Only creative plot twists!

Apparently, all it takes to get a bunch of women out on a Sunday afternoon is tiny sparkly diamonds, cottagecore ghosts, and the promise of a good visit.

We had such a great afternoon with the Granny Hobby Club at 70 Acre Brew Co.

Everyone was surprised by how easy the craft was, which meant less stressing over tiny diamonds and more time chatting, laughing, reconnecting with friends, and making a few new ones.

Because yes, the coasters turned out adorable… but I think the best part was watching a table full of people put down their phones, pick up a hobby, and just enjoy being together.

I designed this miniature makeup set with Dolly as the inspiration, and honestly… legend isn’t a en a big enough word for her.

She is so much more than the big hair, rhinestones and pink lipstick. She built an empire by being unapologetically herself, lifted others up along the way, and proved you can be wildly successful while staying kind and true to your roots.

So I created a tiny little slice of Dolly’s world — pink, sparkly, glamorous, a little bit country and completely over-the-top.

Apparently, teaching paint nights is not exactly a low-impact sport. 😂 Between hauling supplies, lifting canvases, demonstrating techniques, cleaning up, and doing all the things that happen behind the scenes… my shoulder decided it had officially had ENOUGH.

I’m in physio and taking the time I need to get my shoulder back to normal. ❤️

I really miss you! I miss the laughter around the tables, watching you create something you’re proud of, the happy little accidents, and those moments when everyone forgets about the outside world for a few hours.

Teaching isn’t just a job for me. I genuinely LOVE it. It fills my cup, and being away from it has been hard.

So if you’ve been thinking, *“Where the heck is she?!”* — now you know. 😉

🌈 This Week's Creative Wellness Challenge: Go on a Colour Walk
Have you ever noticed how quickly your mind can spiral into overthinking? One minute you're doing fine, and the next you're replaying conversations, worrying about tomorrow, or carrying the weight of things you can't control.

That's where a Colour Walk comes in. A Colour Walk is a simple grounding technique that uses your senses to bring you back to the present moment.

This week, I invite you to take a short walk and choose one colour to focus on. Maybe it's yellow/pink/teal.

As you walk, look for that colour everywhere around you.
Notice flowers, signs, cars, clothing, leaves, buildings, or tiny details you might normally miss.

Snap photos of what you find along the way. The goal isn't to get the perfect picture. The goal is to gently shift your attention away from racing thoughts and back into the world around you.
Walking helps clear the mind.

Noticing helps anchor you in the present. Photography helps you slow down and pay attention. When we engage our senses, we remind our nervous system that we are here, now, in this moment.

✨ Your Challenge:
Choose a colour.
Take a 10-20 minute walk.
Photograph everything you can find in that colour.
Share your favourite photo in the comments.

💗 What colour will you be hunting for this week?

Bonus: Create a photo collage and share it below.

The hardest part of painting isn’t the paint. It’s believing you’re capable. Every confident artist started exactly where you are. One brushstroke at a time.
