Big news.

Book Two: "Secrets of Willows Rise: Part One of the Willows Rise Mystery" is officially complete and done.

I am excited to finally share that the book will be released on July 1, 2026, with presales beginning June 7, 2026.

This next book continues the story of Lyra and Willows Rise, with more mystery, more family secrets, more emotional moments, and a deeper look into the past that has been quietly waiting to come forward.

A special thank you to Jacqueline Inez, the artist behind the beautiful cover illustration. I am so grateful for the work and care that went into bringing the cover to life.

Thanks to the editorial assistance from those through Friesen Press, Tim Young and Alana for helping with editing and proofing.

Look for Secrets of Willows Rise to start hitting store shelves in July.

More details coming soon.
..and stay tuned for updates on Book Three: "Echos of Willows Rise: Part Two of the Willows Rise mystery"

For a long time, most people have known me mainly through my writing.

Stories have always been a huge part of who I am. Writing gave me a place to process life, create worlds, share faith, and turn thoughts into something meaningful. But writing has never been the only creative part of me.

But did you know that music has always been there too...

I had started writing, composing and singing back in junior high and high school. And my music was incredible. But I took a step back a long time ago.

I have been slowly getting back into music, not as something separate from my writing, but as another part of the same creative voice. Whether it is cello, piano, violin, folk-inspired sounds, or songs shaped by story and emotion, music gives me another way to express what words alone sometimes cannot.

This is still a new chapter for me, and I am moving at my own pace. I am learning, creating, experimenting, and letting the process grow naturally. I am not stepping away from writing. I am expanding the creative world around it.

So this page will now include more of that journey: my books, my art, my blog posts, my music, and the behind-the-scenes pieces of building a creative life.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my writing over the years. I am excited to share this next part with you too.

Hey everyone. Hope you are all well.

Over the past few years, some companions and I collaborated on a music project (bucket list) and got together to help me with a huge project.

Well now, that project is complete (has been for some time) and I am now releasing the work.

Everyone enjoy and go and listen to the fruits of my "musical" story and our work on Spotify

Have fun with this and please share

One of my more recent short stories that's been getting some traction lately. Some have said this is a "new kind of genre mashup".

Don't take my word, give it a read and let me know!

The Alberta Government is changing the way it supports people with disabilities—and not for the better.

A new program called ADAP is set to replace AISH by 2026. It brings stricter eligibility rules, reduced income exemptions, and reassessments for 77,000 current recipients. Many will lose support they rely on just to survive.

At the same time, teachers, nurses, and educational assistants are being stretched to the breaking point. While other provinces support their vulnerable citizens, Alberta is cutting corners and clawing back funds.

This isn’t just policy—it affects real people, every day. I’ve written a detailed blog piece that breaks down what’s happening and why it matters.

If you care about fairness, dignity, and the future of this province, please read and share.
Warning: it is a bit "opinionated" and language free.

I came from a place where hope didn’t exist. Thirty Five+ foster homes. Fifteen (plus) schools. Labeled unplaceable, forgotten, and lost. But just when the system gave up on me, God didn’t. What happened next wasn’t coincidence—it was a miracle. This is my story of survival, faith, hope and being adopted when there was no one left. A testimony of how God made a way when there wasn’t one.

Miracles of FaithPosted on 1 August 2025by Sarah King Do you believe miracles still happen?I didn’t. Not for a long time. But maybe that’s because when you’re six going on seven and living life through the lens of broken dreams, miracles seem like stories meant for other people. My world was s...
