LATEST EDIT: The issue described below has been fixed, if you are still experiencing it please visit the Microsoft Store and update to the version released today.

ISSUE BELOW IS FIXED AS OF SEPTEMBER 3RD 9PM EASTERN!

Known Issues with the Microsoft Store Version of the Game.

Receiving error "EPERM: operation not permitted" upon startup or character progression not saving.

Banished Stone requires read/write permissions on the default install folder to create game files.

Windows Store installs the game into a secure folder with no read/write permissions.

You can attempt to override this behavior and grant read/write permissions through Windows Explorer. This is both annoying and can cause potential problems.

Suggested solution, after downloading the game and installing it.

Navigate to this folder:

C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\RegalComputerServices.BanishedStone_1.15.0.0_x64__qza5rp45r6z68\VFS\ProgramFilesX64

Copy the Banished Stone install folder from this location to anywhere else on your computer.

Create a shortcut to NW.EXE inside this new folder. and make sure NW.EXE has "Run as Administrator" permissions.

Run your shortcut or NW.EXE directly and the game should play as intended.

Without following these steps the game will not have the permissions to save your game progress and will also produce a licensing error when you first run it.

A permanent solution to this issue will be investigated and a solution provided as soon as possible.

The Steam, Epic Games Store and Standalone versions of the game do not have this problem.

After some bizarre feedback to get listed in the Microsoft Store, I wasn't sure Banished Stone was going to make it there .... but good news!

Banished Stone is now available in the Microsoft Store!

Not much has happened in the last week, still waiting for Epic Games approval. Due to the fact I am asking for an exemption this seems to be getting bumped around but hopefully Banished Stone will be listed on Epic Games by the end of the month!

Not wanting to sit on my thumbs, I've also been pushing to get Banished Stone listed in the Windows Store.

I'm currently waiting for Certification for that to happen, which will hopefully be approved sometime next week.

Much like Epic Game Store, I've never had a product listed in the Windows Store so this is also a new process!

This week I'm mostly working on getting Banished Stone on Epic Games Store .... It's a work in progress but I'm getting there!

While I've had games on Steam prior to Banished Stone (Lands of Hope Redemption, Infinitum Vitas etc...), this will have been my first attempt at getting on Epic Games. So it will be an important milestone if achieved.

Version 1.14 contains the following additions and changes:

* Fixed some spell hover texts that were missing, concerning Meteor, Nurture, Energy Well, Specters and Spikes and Sunspot!
* Meteor now causes fire or earth damage, it is random!
* Added new skills Light Bonus, Dark Bonus, Nature Bonus and Ice Bonus to provide boosts to the new spells.
* The monster power called Dent Armor has been changed so that the effects are more potent. This power will lower your armor value for up to 20seconds, making you easier to damage.
* From level 2 onwards if you are running out of energy you will find you auto-use food in your inventory (not limited to power bar) and don`t have to manually use it.
* Using items from your inventory and even the auto-food use feature now show an animated icon to represent the item that was used.
* Changed the behavior of the Swords and Daggers skills. These now provide a random additional attack versus an additional damage bonus.
