Discover the stories on the walls! Join professional artist Sonz1 for a free, all-ages tour exploring past South West Mural Fest murals and murals by festival organizer Andrew Robertson. Dive into the art form of murals, uncover the rich history of street art, and get the insider backstory on how these massive pieces came to life.

Whether you are a local resident or visiting Shaunavon for the weekend, this is your chance to see the community’s vibrant public art through the eyes of an expert.

DROP-IN SPRAY PAINT WORKSHOP

Ever wanted to grab a can and try your hand at spray painting? Now is your chance. As the South West Mural Fest officially kicks off in Shaunavon, we are bringing you a hands-on community experience.

Join us this weekend for a completely FREE, all-ages workshop led by professional artist SONZ1 •Graffiti•Murals . Whether you are a curious beginner, an aspiring artist, or just looking for a fun Saturday afternoon activity, Sonz1 will be teaching real lettering techniques and sharing expert tips on how to control the can.
No prior experience or registration is required—just drop in, learn from a pro, and help us paint the prairies.

The Details:
When: Saturday, July 18 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Where: 4th Ave W & Centre St in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan.
Cost: Free, with all ages and skill levels welcome.

ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT!

Charity Goring is a Canadian artist, muralist, and co-founder of Freshest Kicks, a custom sneaker art studio specializing in hand-painted footwear. She studied toward a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Saskatchewan before pursuing a career in the performing arts, traveling internationally as a performer and program director. Charity has assisted on numerous large-scale public murals throughout Western Canada and creates artwork inspired by nature, restoration, and community. She believes art has the power to tell stories, inspire hope, and bring people together. We are so excited to have Charity come paint in our town!

ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT!

An aspiring street artist from the Shaunavon area, Mores Lacelle brings a fresh, grassroots energy to public art.
After several years of refining his spray paint techniques on his family farm’s grain bins, Mores is transitioning from playful cartoon work to large-scale, nature-focused pieces. His creative vision is heavily shaped by his outdoor lifestyle, particularly his hands-on experience raising bees and growing mushrooms.

When he isn’t painting, Mores serves his community as a volunteer firefighter and works at Meeting Grounds Coffee House. The South West Mural Fest marks his official debut on a major public wall, and we are incredibly excited to showcase his raw local talent.
