I honestly don't know where to begin...
McKenzie Emsland (Wills) organized one of the best barrel races I have ever attended, a benefit for a fellow barrel racer, Katie Garthwaite
She got sponsors -over $12,000
She got prizes
She got donations for a silent auction
She gave her family many jobs, and they did them all...AMAZINGLY!!!

Thank you to Lane Wills and Brooke Wills Vandewetering for helping with the entire event, thank you Jeff Wills for your amazing ground work and Brenda Wills for everything and I mean EVERYTHING else!!!
The silent auction was amazing, the concession was all donated back to Katie, the Emsland family donating all the food and their time to run it.

JP Arena - Jamie Payton knocked it out of the park to get the ground from muddy and not going to happen (Thursday) !!!!! to amazing, safe AND fast!!!! (Friday morning)
Thank you also Jeff Wills for ensuring this happened and to Wayne Davidson for supplying sand and being there at 6:00 am to check things out!!!

There are many more people to thank; gate people, barrel pickers, water truck drivers, and every contestant! THANK YOU

Our community came out and did their thing - I am so proud and humbled by this!!!!

It was amazing to see some great horses and runs and of course to have the beautiful Gracie Garthwaite make the trip to run at this event made it even more special!!!

We raised some money, the dust hasn't settled yet, but just by arena fees, time only's, and donations, we started with $4585.00, plus all the people who donated their winnings!!!

There have been a few changes to the draw with tradeouts, but everybody knows where they are running.

The draw will be posted at the race.
There were some scratches, but I had to place some juniors throughout the open so they took those scratch spots.
Bottom line it’s a big race and some people are going to be later in the draw🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
There will be a big rake every 50
Thank you everybody so much for your generosity and support of Katie Garthwaite.
I received a message from her husband this morning thanking us.
This is going to be a great race, put your cowboy hats on and go have some fun.
The attire is casual.
