Hey Harry,
I hope you are doing well. I am contacting you today on behalf of Fringe North, an annual Fringe festival based in Sault Ste. Marie. We are currently searching for individuals with a passion for the arts. This year, we will be running the festival virtually in August, as it is the safest and most accessible platform for many at this time. At Fringe North, we value providing accessible opportunities for both artists and the audience! 100% of ticket sales go to the participating artists and we set a maximum ticket price so it is affordable for anyone interested in watching and participating! This year it will be completely FREE to submit artistic content and we will be including several genres of art within the festival (theatre, dance, comedy, music, visual arts, poetry, film, etc.) .
I was wondering if you could please share the following information with others, so they can know about the event! We promote inclusivity and diversity and would love the opportunity to showcase young talent in our community! We officially opened artist registrations, and you can find more information on how to register on our website (www.fringenorth.ca) as well as our different social media platforms. We are also waiving all participation fees this year, so this is a great time for students and youth to start to be involved in our festival! Students can be individual acts or in a group, and of any age! We accept any appropriate genre of performance such as theatre, music, dance, comedy, literary, poetry, workshops, and more!
More information will be available on our registration form which can be accessed through this link: https://www.jotform.com/build/210337233770247. We are interested in any area of arts students find themselves passionate about. We are eager to help fan the flames of young artistic souls through support and encouragement.
We ask that every artist, who is interested in participating, fill out the official registration form as soon as possible. Artist registration is currently open and can also be accessed through the Fringe North website at www.fringenorth.ca.
The due date for submissions is June 30, 2021.
Furthermore, we would love to invite students to participate in our “Artists in Residency” program. This program will provide additional support for students who are new to taking the performative arts into the professional sphere, enabling them to earn more money from their work. If any students are interested in discovering more about this program please have them send an email to [email protected].
Additionally, we were also wondering if you could please share that we have volunteer opportunities available as well. This year we are prioritizing student volunteers as we want to help them graduate. We know opportunities to volunteer have been limited due to Covid-19 restrictions and we know students are struggling to get their 40 hours. If you could please share a link to our volunteer registration https://form.jotform.com/211465724873057, we would greatly appreciate it. We are even willing to have students submit festival content in exchange for volunteer hours in place of cash.
We kindly ask that you also share our contact information (email: [email protected]; Instagram: ; Facebook: FringeSault) in case any students would like to reach out to us! We are more than happy to answer questions and help them be a part of our festival!
Please let me know when this email has been received. Also, please contact me if you have any comments, questions or concerns.
Thank you in advance for your help,
Shannon
