Today, The Ink Room recognizes National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

Many of my clients, friends and members of our community are Indigenous, and I’m grateful for the trust you place in me and my little studio.

Today is a day to listen, learn, remember and honour.

Every Child Matters. 🧡

YOUR BODY. DO YOUR RESEARCH. 🖤

As both an RN and tattoo artist, I found this really interesting.

CNO has recently introduced new guidance around nurses providing aesthetic services, with a stronger focus on education, competency, safety and accountability when altering someone’s body.

Tattooing and permanent makeup are still currently exempt from certain controlled-act restrictions in Ontario — but that doesn’t make them risk-free, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ontario move toward greater regulation like Michigan.

We break the skin. We deal with blood and body fluids. We create wounds that need to heal properly.

As regulations and expectations around cosmetic procedures continue to evolve, being legally allowed to perform something and being properly educated to perform it safely are two very different things.

Do your research. Ask about training, infection control and inspections.

You only get one body — be picky about who you trust to alter it. 🖤

Added another floral piece to this clients leg. Eventually we will bring it all together with shading, more florals and vines 👌
