The Salty Marie is Sault Ste.Maries way of celebrating all things trail! Mountain biking and trail running race, kids events, vendors, bike demos, food and drink......what more could you want? Proceeds from the trails fest goes to support the Kinsmen Club of Sault Ste.Marie, The Sault Cycling Club and Sault Ste.Marie Search and Rescue, all organizations that make it possible to ride the trails at Hiawatha.

The Salty Marie Trails Fest is back for YEAR FOUR, and this salty little festival only happens because of our incredible volunteer crew. 💛

We need your help to make this our biggest and saltiest year yet! 🌲🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️

We’re looking for volunteers for:

10 km — The Light Brine 🧂
Fast, runnable, and deceptively fun. A great entry point for trail runners looking to dip their toes into salty territory without overcooking it.

25 km — The Full Brine 🧂
Balanced and bold. Enough distance to demand respect, enough variety to keep your brain engaged. This is where pacing, nutrition, and smart decisions matter.

50 km — The Salt Cured 🧂
Slow-burn suffering, fully preserved. This ultra-distance challenge is for runners who like their trails long, their climbs honest, and their finish-line emotions intense.

This is not your average ride. Our SuLTRA 200 km is for the bold, the prepared, and the possibly the slightly unhinged. And we’re keeping it exclusive... only 12 spots are open.

🗓 Applications forms will be available January 31! So MARK YOUR CALENDAR!
Once applications are in, we’ll do a random draw from all eligible riders to fill the starting line.

✅ Eligibility requirements (you must have completed ONE of the following):
• 100km mountain bike ride/race
• 100km off-road bikepacking trip
• 160km gravel ride/race
• 200km+ road ride/race
