Hi all,

I realized that this page had not been updated in a very long time and should have been.

The Chimo Chordsmen have disbanded, and have not been meeting for a few years now. The group was lean on members prior to COVID, and it wasn't able to re-organize and come back after the restrictions were lifted.

The group was around for a long time, so this sad news. We can hope that a new chorus will rise from the ashes sometime in the future.

Wanted to share out this video of the "Stone Frigate Big Band" (local to Saskatoon) who put together this mix during quarantine. Cheers and good health!

We're missing playing for our fans and rehearsing together. We decided to try putting a tune together from home. Everyone recorded their parts on cell phones...

Hi folks,

Passing on the word, which I'm sure won't come as a surprise. The chorus is suspending rehearsals due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The chorus will take a break until Easter (April 12th) and we'll re-evaluate at that point.

Please pass on the word. Be safe, be healthy, and take good care of yourselves.

Best wishes,

Rob

Hi Chimo and Friends! I just wanted to take a moment to ask you to share this post with your friends, your friends' friends, and anybody else you can think of in the Saskatoon area!

The Chordsmen are looking for singers to fill out our ranks in all voice parts (and if you don't exactly know your voice part in the barbershop world, we can help you figure that out!) Singers of all experience levels are welcome - if you enjoy singing in the shower or with your church choir, or you used to sing in school and haven't been with an organized group in years. We will provide learning tracks to help you pick up the tunes, which can especially be helpful for folks who don't have a lot of experience reading music.

We sing on Monday nights from 7-9 PM at the Calvin-Goforth church on Sommerfeld Street in Saskatoon. Walk-ins are welcome, come by and sing some songs with us.

What if you're not a male singer, or perhaps you're a youth who would like to share experiences with others your age?
Magic City Chorus Saskatoon is a "Sweet Adeline" chorus for women of all ages. They have an amazing sound and are a very well established local chorus.
Acoustic Theory is an a mixed voice (male + female) a capella group with a special focus on barbershop harmony for youth ages 15-25. They sound great and their energy level is amazing!

Cheers all!
