So just hung my very first solo show EVER!!! This is crazy!! The show is based around my 100 Day Project that I have shown examples of from time to time. It is so great to see it all come together!! It was a hard slog to get so many works on the walls but I had help from my dad, my nephew and of course my husband, so it got done!

Come check it out if you live in Saskatoon. If you can’t make it to the reception tonight definitely still come check it out. The work is up until Feb 11 so you’ve got lots of time. Let me know what you think!!

This is what failure looks like. This was one of my 100 day projects (can’t quite remember what day) and things didn’t go well. The prompt was “fabric paint, sponges and as fast s you can”. Well,.. I only had a few colours of fabric paint and when I started putting the paint down with the sponges I IMMEDIATELY realized it was going to get muddy really quickly. Apparently fabric paint, on anything other than fabric, doesn’t f***ing dry!!! So what you see is my attempt to save it by trying to scrape most of the paint off and then using a sponge to “drip” it off. Sigh. I do think that this could be the BEGINNING of a decent painting, but so far it’s not screaming “success”!🤣🤣.

I’m back,… again🙄. Days 34 and 36. Apparently I forgot to take the beginning pics of each but day 34’s prompts were “Rocks/Stones, Paint Markers and Wild Card” which I made into the use of patterns. I don’t like this one but ran out of ideas of what else to do. Any ideas? Day 36’s prompts were “Popsicle Sticks, Stain and Super Easy Transfer Print”. This one is ok but doing the super easy transfer method is, indeed, super easy.

Day 23. This one presented challenges when the balloon filled with ink didn’t quite pop like I expected. So I had to improvise!! This is the final result. I do really like the effect of the distress resist spray! I will be using that again!!

Days 21 and 22. Day 21 was taking forever!!! I need to work more with Magicals to really see their true potential I think. Fort his they were simply annoying. And washi tape does NOT take paint well. 🤬. By contrast the day 22 one was nice and simple and easy. I DID use sandpaper to sand the wood… couldn’t think of another way to use it here. 🤣🤣.
