_______
Manman La Mer tells the story of Marjolaine, gifted with the power to know the future. Encouraged by her mother, the child stifles her gift of clairvoyance. But twenty-six years later, devastated by a mysterious and incurable illness, she has no choice but to go to Haiti and rely on the good care of her grandmother.
Manman La Mer… a midwife? A mystic or a simple grandmother full of love? Manman La Mer puts women and Haitian spirituality in the spotlight, and explores with humour and authenticity the themes of mother-daughter relationships while vibrating to the rhythm of traditional Haitian tales.
