ASPIRING TATTOOERS AND APPRENTICES!

OK, but in all seriousness. Someone asked me my “enter the industry” advice recently, and my advice is: PICK LITERALLY ANY OTHER JOB.
Tattooing is going through some weird s**t right now, and many tattooers who are established artists (especially those in their first 10 years) are really struggling with the economy, and the oversaturation of artist in this industry. I’m watching very talented and established artists have to get other jobs to support themselves. This is not the right time to throw another man on this lifeboat. Literally anything else people, go into the trades, that’s a safe bet.
AND WHILE WE ARE HERE. Everyone and their dog decided to become a tattooer after COVID, and it’s disheartening seeing a lot of people with such disregard for the time, discipline, and effort that this job requires; permanently altering people and unethically causing harm, and then also DECIDING THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE APPRENTICIES. 🧐
AND ONE MORE THING!!!! Cause we here now. Most “tattoo courses” or “tattoo schools” are NOT run or instructed by reputable tattooers that are qualified to be teaching. It’s a scam, they take your money and give you your crappy little certificate, (which you should burn) and now you have a bunch of bad habits to unlearn.
