ArtSpace YXE

ArtSpace YXE ARTSPACE YXE is a non-profit organization recently established by a group of local artists to create an artistic hub in Saskatoon. artSpace Saskatoon Inc.

Saskatoon is home to many successful artist guilds, associations, and collaborations. It is often thought, however, that if the city had one central location for the public to access many of these artists and their work, both parties would benefit immensely. is a non-profit organization recently established by a group of local artists to create just such an artistic hub in the City of Saskatoon. T

he group was inspired by well-established projects such as Artscape in Toronto whose vision is: a world that engages art, culture and creativity as catalysts for community, vibrancy, sustainability, prosperity and inclusiveness. artSpace Saskatoon envisions developing and managing a large building or collection of buildings housing reasonably priced permanent studios for working artists thereby establishing a communal location to create, promote and support art in Saskatoon. Furthermore, artSpace envisions public access to many of these studios for classes, presentations, or observation, as well as gallery and boutique retail space. artSpace Saskatoon believes that pulling artists together into one recognizable and accessible location will provide significant rewards to the arts, culture, and economy of Saskatoon and will accomplish many of goals set out by the City on its website. The goal of the Urban Design Program is to make Saskatoon competitive, livable, healthy, inclusive and distinctive. Programs and projects are established to help the economy thrive while facilitating creativity and innovation. …. to establish a competitive edge for Saskatoon by creating a distinctive city with a strong identity and sense of place.

Imagine this Saskatoon.

The multi-use arts hub was meant to open in 2020. Now, it’s getting ready to launch this spring—and save the city’s arts scene in the process.

Make sure your voice is heard. I know we all hate taking surveys but this is only 5 minutes of your time. We know you’re out there. Artists, creators, makers all need safe, affordable, sustainable working/collaborative spaces.

The survey is winding down. Make sure to get your voice heard.

Imagining what ArtspaceYXE could be. The Tett Centre is a charitable arts organization, operating in the beautiful JK Tett heritage building on Lake Ontario's waterfront in Kingston, Ontario. This historic building is owned by the City of Kingston and was fully renovated in 2015. It originally formed part of the Morton Brewery and Distillery Company, which was built in the mid-19th century.
