I’ve been itching to try a new art medium, so I treated myself to some new “toys.” Namely, watercolour brush pens! I’ve enjoyed playing around with watercolour paint for a bit, and my hope is that these will have less setup, making it more likely that I’ll actually make art.
I don’t know what I’m doing yet, so I did a little doodle as a trial run. I think I’m gonna enjoy experimenting with these. 😍

Over the last five years, I’ve focused a lot of my painting energy on capturing views of the Rockies that I’ve gotten to witness in person. I had initially started a larger acrylic painting last month, but I got discouraged early on and needed a quick win. These scribbly urban drawings are good at getting me to loosen up and care less. Plus they just are so much quicker. Hopefully the abandoned painting will be completed for my March project!

Hi friends! It’s been a hot second since I posted any kind of art update.

I was gifted several canvases for Christmas, and decided it would be a good challenge to try and paint one picture per month this year. I’m trying to be on social media as little as possible these days, however! If I can use it as accountability for my art, I’ll say it’s worth it. I’m currently enjoying a maternity leave while I hang out with my precious little guy. I’m sure it’ll be hard to stick with this challenge when I’m back to work, but I’m gonna do my darndest!
