It's time to meet the company of Ride the Cyclone!

Kai Balkwill - Set Designer
Jorja Greene (they/he/she) is a third year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Saskatchewan. He helped launch a rocket this summer as a part of the University of Saskatchewan Space Design Team. It flew over 14,000 ft and looked like a bright orange crayon. The skills they’re learning in engineering are extremely useful as a set designer for Ride the Cyclone. Her profs would be proud to see the load analysis and engineering drawings being done. Previous set design work includes Beauty and the Beast (SSP) and Ghosts (Live Fully Productions). This will be his sixth show with Saskatoon Summer Players, and he’s so excited to help bring one of his favourite shows to life! When they’re not in the theatre or the engineering building, you can find them reading, rock climbing, or hanging out with their cat.
Kai Balkwill (they/them) was born and raised in Regina but now calls Saskatoon home. Kai has a background in architectural technology and recently graduated with their master’s of inclusive design from OCAD University. They have always been a lover of musical theater and participated in many musicals on stage in high school. They are excited to combine their passion for theater and design by helping with the set for Ride the Cyclone. This is Kai’s first production with SSP, and they have absolutely enjoyed every minute of it! Kai’s first introduction to the Saskatoon theater community was when they were brought to help volunteer at Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan at nine years old. They have met so many kind and creative people since and are happy to be a part of the community.
