Saskatoon Summer Players Saskatoon Summer Players (SSP) is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to creating high-quality musical theatre in the Saskatoon area

SSP began as a group of dedicated amateurs working out of Knox United Church who mounted their first production, “Oklahoma”, in 1964. SSP has presented one “main-stage” musical in late June/early July every year since then. This main stage show is now playing about 10 times at Persephone Theatre. SSP has produced a second smaller show in the fall and an irregular basis, and since 2003 has also pro

duced a series of reviews, the “Broadway Bash”, each February. SSP has always drawn on the considerable talents of amateur on-stage performers and off-stage volunteers from the community. All concerned have taken considerable pride in mounting shows of high quality and, often, of professional standard.

Fill out the submission form on our website before September 1st, and you could be a member of Virgil & the Underworlds!

Ride the Cyclone will be directed by BJ Dyck and run from November 12-15, 2026 at the Broadway Theatre.

Audition submissions for Ride the Cyclone are now open!

Auditions will take place at the SSP Studio (1527 Ontario Avenue) on August 16, 17 and 18.

All audition information, including audition materials for each character and the audition booking link can be found on our website.

Please note: we are ONLY seeing auditioners age 18+ for Ride the Cyclone.

Ride the Cyclone will be directed by BJ Dyck and run from November 12-15, 2026 at the Broadway Theatre.
