Happy 1st Gotcha Day to the biggest pain in my ass! Wouldn't give her up for the world though.

Adopting a cat was a big decision, but I can't imagine not having done it. Lilith gives me a reason to get up in the morning (mainly because she is DEMANDING breakfast), but also something to look forward to when I come home from work. Having a furry little critter to talk to makes a big difference when you live alone.

From day 1, she acted like she owned the place. That hasn't changed. Now she just yells at me more. And occasionally brings a live mouse inside 🙄.

Here's to many more years of companionship from my furry kitty daughter!

Hopefully the first of many awards I get to hang in my studio! I was awarded the Emerging Artist award for my piece "The Lost City of Atlantis" in the Spring Exhibition.

Special thanks to clay-masher extraordinaire for presenting me with the award on the night!

"The Lost City of Atlantis" - 2026

A shark prowls through the ruins of an ancient city.
Nothing is as powerful as a child's imagination. What looks like wooden blocks and a simple goldfish, can be transformed into much more wonderful things in the mind of a child.

My main submission for this years Spring Exhibition. This year's theme was "Playful Connections" I was grateful to be awarded the Emerging Artist award for this piece. It was a lot of trial, error, and stress.

"Puddle Jumping"

One of my entries for the competition at this year's Spring Sale and Exhibition, Apri 17 and 18.l

This year's theme was "Playful Connections", which immediately got me thinking of children jumping in puddles! The yellow ball is reminiscent of the yellow rain suits and boots that so many grew up with.

When was the last time you jumped in a puddle?

Working on my pieces for the Spring Exhibition! I like to stress myself out by leaving it until the last minute, I guess

First pieces thrown on my new (*to me) wheel! My pottery corner in the basement is a little janky still, but it'll do while I slowly upgrade it. I have a tendency to not want to start something until I am 100% prepared, so I had to make a conscious effort to start throwing before it was "perfect".

Can you tell which one was thrown first?

I've taken the next big step in my artistic journey. I'm officially teaching my own class at the !! First throwing class is in the books, and everyone came away with all their fingers! Having to explain to others will hopefully change the way I think about clay, and help me in my own practice.
