…COMING BACK SOON on our farm…
24/7 SELF SERVE EGG HUT!
We have sold eggs in so many different methods and in the end we kept changing it due to privacy on our farm and how much time I was spending on my phone communicating orders (taking away my time with my family). We spend a lot of time outside of our full time jobs to work on the farm and business, so during our downtimes we love to enjoy the land in peace.
The hut will be closed during store hours (mostly Saturday 10-2) or Sundays 10-2 in case I cannot be open the prior day due to my full time job (usually three days a year). This is for safety purposes so traffic can run smoothly down the laneway for the store hours. The open sign and flags will indicate the hut being closed.
In the past we have always had it set up at the house, so this time we are trying the good old fashioned way: at the road.
It’s a work in progress, we have to expand the door opening (done), add shelves, paint, adorable egg sign I’ll make, etc. There will be a two spot parking location directly beside the hut (see photo) for safe parking and turning around without requiring going down our laneway or backing onto the busy road. The hut needs a little work which we hope to have done within the next week, woodchips, gravel & plants done with designated roping and signage.
The hut plans to be open 24/7 (minus the four hours a week the store is open) as there will be security cameras but not disturbing our regular family privacy.
BUT, it is cash or direct emt only.
The egg hut will be stocked with quail and chicken eggs (possibly our fresh cut flowers too depending on space) straight from us! Everything else will be in our store which is open once a week.
Worse case scenario if this doesn’t work out, the hut becomes our daughter’s bus stop shelter instead, lol.
No contact needed, cash preferred (less phone time). First come, first serve. Will stock up as available (leaving some every day for the stores stock).
As prices may vary, it will be posted inside the hut on each cooler.
