Our community is feeling heavy today.
We’re holding everyone at Lambton College close, along with all those impacted by last night’s events.
We’re especially thinking of the first responders who showed up in an incredibly difficult moment, and the emergency services students who may have witnessed and carried this experience firsthand.
Please check in on your people — and on yourself. You don’t have to carry hard things alone.

Lambton College is mourning the loss of Dane Nisbet, a former student and member of our community. He was 20 years old. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. Our flags are at half-mast in his memory.
Our thoughts are also with the two others injured this morning and with everyone impacted by the senseless act of violence that occurred in the early hours of this morning at our Student Administrative Council-run pub on campus.
Sarnia Police Service are leading a homicide investigation and we are cooperating fully. According to Sarnia Police, they have received no information indicating this incident targeted Lambton College or the general crowd in attendance. For the most current information, we ask the public to follow the Sarnia Police Service directly.
Support continues to be available to members of the Lambton College community through Counselling & Wellness and the Employee and Family Assistance Plan.
We will share further updates as new information becomes available.
