Yesterday, Directors Mitch Kilgour and Linda Lewandoski from Sandy Lake Drop-In Centre Inc. met with Sandy Lake Sports Park Inc. Directors Doug Wotton and Dennis Yanchycki to sign agreements transferring the $50,000 ACSC government grant agreement and $1 sale of Covid Visitation Pod SeaCan (acquired from the Sandy Lake Personal Care Home), to Sandy Lake Sports Park Inc.. Sandy Lake Sports Park Inc. has been formed to oversee the completion of restoration activities for the Larry Woytowich Family Sports Park (historic Sandy Lake roller rink), owned by the Municipality of Harrison Park. We would like to sincerely thank the Sandy Lake Drop-In Centre for allowing us to initiate this important community project under their name.

The restored Roller Rink built in the 1950’s was a busy place during Sandy Lake Western Days this past weekend with Roller Skating Friday, a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament Saturday, and a Pickleball Tournament Sunday. Thank you for Sandy Lake Western Days for Supplying free Ice Cream, Vint’s Sandcastle for supplying the prizes for 3 on 3 Basketball, and Heritage Coop for supplying the prizes for Pickleball!
