“Under the Veil”
Although I didn’t get to do the final sit on this piece, its been about a year and felt I should share. This ia a very powerful tattoo and it reveals the duality we all carry… the seen and the unseen, the living and the inevitable.
At first glance, she is beauty; a woman, elegant and composed, her fingers delicately pulling a sheer veil across her face. But as the fabric slips, what’s revealed beneath is raw truth… skeletal features coming from the shadows.
The veil represents the illusions we cling to: identity, youth, perfection and control. It’s the social mask, the cultivated self. And yet, beneath it all, there is something more eternal and honest.
She is not just fading… she is awakening. The bones beneath are not symbols of death, but of enduring essence and rebirth. This tattoo invites the wearer… and the viewer, to confront the mystery of transformation, mortality, and self-reclamation.
It is about honouring what lies beyond appearances. The beauty we chase, the fear we hide and the truths we bury.
