Progress is being made!

Remember kids, Asbestos is not best-est. We went against the wise words of Bart Simpson and had the asbestos removed.

Now to remove the 30,000 nails used to hold down the 2 subfloors, install new subfloors, and choose some new flooring!

What do you guy and gal's think? Lighter floor? Honey Tea or Star Coral?!

Every good work day needs a patio b**r on the beach!

Working away on this killer little Martin 000-JR Shawn Mendes, fixing some terrible wiring on this wild Reverend Double Agent. Bridge repair on this Epiphone and cleaning up and restoration on this old Hofner!

Should probably try clean the shop.

Removing a silly unwanted screw that was hidden under the strap button before adding a LR Baggs Five-o.

Love this thing, could play it for hours... but unfortunately I had to give it back.

Six months later... it finally feels like we're moving forward. 🔨 (warning, no guitars shown in this post)

After months of waiting, living out of four different Airbnbs, welcoming our beautiful baby into the world back in May, and wondering when things would finally start happening, our house is finally seeing real progress. 🔧

The asbestos has been safely abated, our belongings have been removed, and the old kitchen cabinets are officially gone. It's not the easiest thing to see your home stripped down to its bones, but it's the first real step toward putting it back together.

This has been one of the most challenging seasons of our lives, but we're incredibly grateful to finally see things moving in the right direction. Here's to rebuilding, creating new memories, eventually getting back home, and getting back to full time work in my shop.

There's something special about bringing a guitar that's been making music for over 90 years back to its best.
This beautiful 1935 Gibson L-00 came into the shop needing some love and attention. I repaired two large cracks in the back, replaced the old brass truss rod nut, and finished it off with a full setup to get it playing its best again.
Every vintage instrument has its own story, and my goal is always to preserve that history while making sure it's ready for many more years of music.
It's an honour every time a beautiful guitar like this finds its way onto my bench.

Lately the work bench has turned in to a change table.

Between changes I find time to make some finish repairs a this Taylor 814CE, repair the binding on the Martin OOO, remove and reglue the bridge on this Cort, and change the black hardware on this Jackson from black to gold. Also found time to start a refresh on this beautiful old Hofner Senator that found it's way here from Edinburgh. All with only half of the shop avaiable to work in.

But the good news is the restoration company finally made it in to start cleaning and repairing the house this week. It only took 6 months for them to start. We may be back on the house by the end of the summer!!

Ohh and we made it to Callum's first wedding!
