Six months later... it finally feels like we're moving forward. 🔨 (warning, no guitars shown in this post)

After months of waiting, living out of four different Airbnbs, welcoming our beautiful baby into the world back in May, and wondering when things would finally start happening, our house is finally seeing real progress. 🔧

The asbestos has been safely abated, our belongings have been removed, and the old kitchen cabinets are officially gone. It's not the easiest thing to see your home stripped down to its bones, but it's the first real step toward putting it back together.

This has been one of the most challenging seasons of our lives, but we're incredibly grateful to finally see things moving in the right direction. Here's to rebuilding, creating new memories, eventually getting back home, and getting back to full time work in my shop.

There's something special about bringing a guitar that's been making music for over 90 years back to its best.
This beautiful 1935 Gibson L-00 came into the shop needing some love and attention. I repaired two large cracks in the back, replaced the old brass truss rod nut, and finished it off with a full setup to get it playing its best again.
Every vintage instrument has its own story, and my goal is always to preserve that history while making sure it's ready for many more years of music.
It's an honour every time a beautiful guitar like this finds its way onto my bench.

Lately the work bench has turned in to a change table.

Between changes I find time to make some finish repairs a this Taylor 814CE, repair the binding on the Martin OOO, remove and reglue the bridge on this Cort, and change the black hardware on this Jackson from black to gold. Also found time to start a refresh on this beautiful old Hofner Senator that found it's way here from Edinburgh. All with only half of the shop avaiable to work in.

But the good news is the restoration company finally made it in to start cleaning and repairing the house this week. It only took 6 months for them to start. We may be back on the house by the end of the summer!!

Ohh and we made it to Callum's first wedding!

Life has been a little wild lately over here at Pineau Guitar Company.

Since February, our family has been displaced from our home due to a flood, insurance claim, and asbestos remediation. Between trying to navigate all of that, having half our house packed into the shop, and still keeping repair work moving, things have definitely been hectic behind the scenes.

Despite the chaos, the bench has stayed busy with some incredible instruments lately — a 1935 Gibson L-00, vintage Fenders, cellos, and plenty of other repairs coming through the shop.

And in the middle of all the madness, we welcomed the newest member of the family — Callum William Pineau, born May 21.

Needless to say, life looks a little different these days.
If replies to repair inquiries have been slower than usual, I really appreciate the patience and understanding while we adjust to everything going on both in the shop and at home.

Thank you to everyone continuing to support Pineau Guitar Company through all of it. It truly means a lot

I don't own a PRS my self, but anytime one comes in for a set up or repair I cant help but take it for a Rip!

From the SE to the top of the line, every PRS I've worked on is set up in minutes. These guitars are one of the most consistant guitars I've ever worked on.

Every time one of these wine red 🍷 Gibson Les Pauls come into the shop, I get hit with a wave of nostalgia.

I'm right back in grade 7, sitting around flipping through my dad's Elderly Instruments catalog. Dreaming of all the guitars I'd own one day.

It's funny how some things never leave you.

I'm sure my dad still has all those old catalogs. Stew Mac, Elderly Instruments, Musician's Friends, etc.

Clearly their advertisements did a hell of a job on me.

Let's clean up the nut on this bad boy!

Does anyone else take 1000s of before photos but never take any after photos?!

If not, come join my one-time workshop entitled "Leave them wanting more. Never posting the finished product!" Where I will teach you how to be blissfully unaware of... well, everything.

You will get comments and reviews like, "What did you do to it?" Or "what does it look like now?!"

All jokes aside, I should try to remember to take more photos. I'm sure it would help my business.
