We got some great news today. Our baby’s heart is on the mend. Yeah!! Remember to check your dog food. Must have grains. Stay away from boutique brands like Acana & Origen. Stick with the tried and true brands like Purina proplan, Hills and Royal Canin. Check the ingredients. Make sure legumes like peas, lentils and sweet potatoes are not in the top 20 ingredients. Research DCM and the link with grain free/ high legume diets. I want to prevent more dogs from going through what my sweet Hemingway went through. Most dogs will die from this condition.

Hemingway’s first cross country ski of the season sans frizbee. He’s getting healthier every day. Remember to check your dog food ingredients. Make sure your dog gets grains, not legumes. They need their grains for healthy hearts. Sorry if I sound like I’m proselytizing, but I feel passionate about this. Stay away from Origen and Acana pet foods- Champion. Worst food out there with a hefty price tag.
