The Phoenix Dinner Theatre (The Phoenix)
Act 1
David, together with Garry, purchased 68 Exmouth Street and founded The Phoenix Dinner Theatre.
Toward the end of Act 1, Alex — Amy’s son, who worked at The Phoenix — introduced Amy to David. Amy soon began volunteering at the theatre, and over time she and David developed a close friendship. As their bond grew stronger, David encouraged Amy to take over the organization and bring fresh vision and energy to The Phoenix.
Act 2
Following the heartbreaking passing of David, Amy purchased 68 Exmouth Street and continued the dinner theatre tradition he helped create. Under her leadership, The Phoenix expanded far beyond theatre productions, becoming a vibrant venue for local and touring bands, weddings, birthdays, cruise ship tours, and countless private events.
After nearly a decade of creating memories and building community, Amy felt it was time to begin a new chapter and made the difficult decision to sell the building at 68 Exmouth Street. But she knew The Phoenix had always been more than just a building.
Act 3
The Phoenix was built on passion, resilience, and community.
After years of unforgettable performances and cherished memories, Amy realized the story still had more to say. Inspired by the past, yet focused on the future, she began imagining a new chapter for The Phoenix — one that honours its roots while leaving space for new possibilities in entertainment, the arts, and community connection.
Where the next stage will be set remains unknown.
But the spirit of The Phoenix has never belonged to one building alone.
The lights dim.
The audience waits.
And somewhere, beyond 68 Exmouth Street, the curtain will one day rise again . . .
