Steve Jones yo I've been making things as far back as I can remember. I furnished my apartment with things I made or altered. I realize how quickly life passes by.

In 2011, my fellow artisan, Mark Jeffery showed me how to use a lathe, the catalyst that eventually pushed me into serious woodturning. I played with making things for family and friends for a couple of years, but when my father passed away in 2014, I decided it was time to get serious about woodturning. I passed most of my youth hanging out skateboarding in the uptown Saint John, New Brunswick. I

t was there that I developed a passion for the wood used to make a board, attracted to the colour infused maple. A skater puts blood, sweat and tears into his skateboard. To discard it seemed like a waste. So with a ready supply of boards, I decided to immortalize their stories, turning the castoffs into unique , handcrafted, functional bowls and more.
