While admiring Peggy’s painting of the symphony “I can hear the music “ when I look upon the orchestra with the movement of her paint strokes. Peggy along with Millar Britain are two Internationally recognized artists that we can be proud to call Saint John’s own.

We didn’t know it at the time but our Arts community was about to be turned upside down & sideways.
This film represents a time capsule of some local Hitmakers who helped morph Saint John into the wonderful cultural community it is to live. The pandemic changed everything & around the world arts received a revived appreciation.

“Highest Tides & Greenest Grass: Introducing Saint John’s Newest Hitmakers”
My documentary title’s from a Rolling Stone’s first album which inspired my dear friend’s suggestion to me . For me “Highest Tides” because we boast the largest tides in the world ;”Greenest Grass” because we’re living amongst some pretty amazing chance takers. Come move here! It also means we get to participate at these cool happenings right here in Saint John. There’s another take to “Greenest Grass” which I’ll leave to your imagination. Still more to do in creating this film with editing sound tracks etc. Having the original album around me serves as a reminder to keep going on my exciting project. Thanks to the same dear friend who discovered it.

Jette surprised me with a butter dish from her pottery class. She said she was inspired by our Hitmaker film poster by Jud Crandall Pulp And Paper and of course I love it! Every time I use this butter dish I will think of Jette and the fun semester we shared,
