Red Fox ⋙ Not the easiest thing to watch but that’s life in the wild. I was sitting up on the edge of the puffin cliffs when suddenly all the puffins flew off. I looked over and saw this momma fox right next to me. She started trying to dig into a puffin burrow but quickly turned her attention to the other side of the island where there was a large group of puffins. She sprinted at them as fast as she could and snagged one before it could escape. I ran as quickly as I could down towards her and managed to capture a few frames as she took her well earned prize back to her hungry kits. In the second image I got lucky and saw a pile of deceased puffins near the fox den. A little later I saw this young guy come grab one of the two puffins to chow down on for dinner. Happy fox Friday!

Atlantic Puffin ⋙ I spent a lot of time trying to capture images of these guys that showed off their stunning habitat. Even though I bought an old 300mm f2.8 before this trip, I dug out my old 70-200 f4 and found myself using that the most. It gave me a lot more to work with and the 300 was bruising my wrist it was so heavy! The 70-200 still hasn’t left my camera much since I got home and has been a nice change from my usual 200-800mm f9.

Woodland Caribou ⋙ When I first walked up towards where this harem was resting, this young caribou was giving me a look like she was thinking “who the heck is that?!” She soon relaxed back down in the golden hour grasses when she realized I was no threat.

Atlantic Puffin ⋙ I spent some time in the dark with these puffins trying out my new to me EF 300mm f2.8, this lens is older than I am and very heavy, but definitely a dream to use. Crazy how well these images came out. They range from 12800-40000 ISO and I bet you couldn’t even pick out which one was 40000.

Sanderling ⋙ I was having lots fun capturing more scenery with this little shorb and my 70-200mm. I never really used this lens much in the past, but this summer I’ve been addicted!

Love Birds ⋙ Just a couple of snuggly birds loving up on each other. It’s always nice to watch these adorable bonding behaviours. I always hope images like these help people relate more to our feathered and furry friends.
