🍃 COMMUNITY CHOICE VENDOR CONTEST 🍃

You nominate. We shortlist. The community votes.

We know Niagara is full of incredible local small businesses, and we want your help discovering one to join us at Cicada Music & Arts Festival this October.

HOW TO NOMINATE:
➡️ Tag your favourite Niagara-based business in the comments below
➡️ One vendor per comment (feel free to nominate more than one!)

IMPORTANT DETAILS:
• Nominations close June 30 at 10 PM EST
• Vendors must submit an application and meet festival requirements to be eligible
• Shortlisted vendors will move on to a community vote
• The winning vendor will receive a $500 credit toward their vendor fee (non-transferable)

Not every nomination will move forward. Finalists will be selected based on fit for the festival.

Happy Father’s Day 🧡

If you’re new here, you might not know the story behind Cicada.

Before there was a festival, there was Thom - a father, a music lover, and the dreamer who started it all by bringing friends and family together in his backyard. What began as a backyard gathering eventually grew into the festival we know today.

This clip was captured last year at Cicada, where festival friend Joe Lapinski shared a few words before performing “Thinking of You” in his honour.

Today we’re raising a glass to Thom, and all the dads out there.

Cicada Music & Arts Festival is proud to announce a new partnership with the Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre, grounded in a shared belief that music, art, and community can play a powerful role in healing. 🎶🫶

Through this partnership, we’ll be supporting trauma-informed music programming for children and youth at Camp Acorn, helping create opportunities for self-expression, creativity, and connection in a safe and supportive environment.

Named after the backyard where Cicada first began, this stage is a tribute to our founder Thom and the community spirit that helped grow a backyard gathering into a festival.

Presented by FirstOntario Credit Union, this special corner of the island is home to intimate performances, local creativity, and some of the weekend’s favourite discoveries.✨

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, get involved in the community, gain hands-on experience, and experience the festival from a whole new perspective. Oh, and did we mention? You’ll also score a really cool shirt. 😎
